Swedish classical accordionist Marie Wärme has performed as soloist in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Italy, Poland and Russia.
Active chamber musician, Marie is founding member of
14 Red Ladies , TangoCatz Quartet and Wärme-Quartet with whom she has performed worldwide, as well as been radio and televison broadcasted in Scandinavia, Italy, Turkey, China, France, Latvia …
Marie’s passion for contemporary music did among other lead her to membership of the artistic direction of the reknown Suså Festival.
In 2010, it culminated with the prestigious KODA’s prize and grant given for ‘passionate work concerning contemporary Danish music’ (KODA – organisation protecting composers rights in DK).
In more of her concert activity, Marie has both – a long and rich pedagogical – as well as remarkable leadership – experience:
- In almost a decade she was teacher and leader of the Music Department at Kofoeds School in Copenhagen.
- From 2008 to 2012, she was appointed leader of Svendborg Music School.
- From 2012 to 2021, Marie was leader of Glostrup Music School – Copenhagen
Marie studied at The Royal Danish Academy of Music, with professor Mogens Ellegaard, and completed her studies with professor Elsbeth Moser in Hannover.
Marie is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
